KayMag Occupational Therapy is committed to providing “needs led person centred support” to young people and adults with a disability.
Kaylene Magnay is an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist and a member of Occupational Therapy Australia.

She has extensive experience in providing occupational therapy services to people with disabilities at different stages throughout their lives.

She is passionate about her role as an Occupational Therapist, working with people and their families, to provide a holistic mobile occupational therapy service.  Her goal is to encourage people to feel empowered to identify their goals and become more independent in their daily lives.
Kaylene has over 25 years of experience providing a range of services to people of all ages with a disability. She graduated from the University of Newcastle as a Registered Nurse in 1993 and then provided assistance to people with developmental disabilities and complex needs, in a range of care and community settings. 

It was her passion to "empower independence"  which led her to become an Occupational Therapy Assistant and then return to university and complete a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy.  

Since graduating from the University of Newcastle in 2007 she has worked as an Occupational Therapist in a variety of settings both for public and private providers.

She has experience working with children and adults with developmental disability, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, neurological disorders and ageing related conditions.

In addition her experience includes complex wheelchair prescription (manual and powered), manual handling risk assessments and training.

National Disability Insurance Scheme:  KayMag Occupational Therapy is registered to provide supports to NDIS Participants.  For more information relating to the NDIS scheme - click here

Medicare:  KayMag Occupational Therapy is a registered Medicare provider. Medicare provides claim benefits for chronic medical conditions and clients with complex care needs. Eligible patients are entitled to Medicare benefits for up to five (5) Allied Health consultations (including occupational therapy) per year. To be eligible for Medicare benefits, you will require a referral for Occupational Therapy services from your General Practitioner and our services must be part of an overall care plan. Please note that a gap payment will also be required.  

DVA:  The Department of Veteran Affair’s (DVA) fund our services for Veteran’s suitably referred by their GP. Gold Card Holders have access to our service and the DVA’s Rehabilitation Appliances Program to restore or maintain independence and to minimise disability or dysfunction.

Private Services:  We are able to provide private occupational therapy services. Depending on your specific health fund and level of cover, you may be entitled to a rebate.

icare – Lifetime Care:  Kaylene is an approved case manager with Lifetime Care and Support.  She is able to provide both Case Management and Occupational Therapy services to scheme participants.
